🔍 Model Background

The Mercury Verado 250 HP outboard (2004–2010) was one of the cornerstone models in Mercury’s first-generation supercharged Verado lineup. Built around a 2.6L inline-6 engine with a belt-driven supercharger, the Verado 250 introduced a new level of smoothness, torque, and digital control to the offshore outboard market.

As one of the earliest production outboards to feature a fully integrated Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS) system, the Verado 250 delivered precise throttle response and effortless multi-engine synchronization. It was also equipped with Mercury’s Advanced MidSection (AMS)

The 250 Verado quickly gained popularity among offshore anglers and center console owners for its balance of power and fuel efficiency. While later Verado models would refine and improve upon the platform, the 250 remains a highly respected engine that helped define Mercury’s presence in the high-horsepower outboard category. Today, it’s still widely used and supported with parts, service, and aftermarket upgrades.
