🔍 Model Background
The Mercury Verado 200 HP outboard (2004–2010) was the entry point into Mercury’s first-generation supercharged inline-6 Verado family. Despite being the smallest in the original lineup, the 200 Verado delivered impressive torque, smooth acceleration, and the same advanced features found on its higher-horsepower siblings.
Powered by a 2.6L inline-6 engine with a belt-driven supercharger, the 200 Verado provided strong midrange performance and excellent throttle response. It featured Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS), SmartCraft integration, and Advanced MidSection (AMS)
The 200 Verado was ideal for lighter offshore boats, bay boats, and single-engine applications where smooth power and reliability were top priorities. Though later replaced by more efficient V6 and V8 models, the 200 HP L6 Verado remains respected for its durability, quiet operation, and early adoption of modern marine technology.
