🔍 Model Background

The Mercury 115 HP Four Stroke outboard (2014–2021) was built on Mercury’s in-house 2.1L inline-4 platform, offering a dramatic improvement over previous generations in terms of power-to-weight ratio, reliability, and fuel efficiency. At just 359 lbs, this model was one of the lightest 115 HP four-strokes in its class — nearly 20 pounds lighter than the previous version and many of its competitors.

Designed for a wide range of boats — including pontoons, bay boats, aluminum fishing rigs, and small center consoles — the 115 Four Stroke delivered excellent midrange torque, quiet operation, and class-leading fuel economy. It featured multi-port EFI, dual overhead cams (DOHC), and a maintenance-free valve train, making it both efficient and easy to own.

This model supported both mechanical and Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS) configurations and was compatible with Mercury’s SmartCraft digital gauges. It earned widespread praise for its clean design, ease of servicing, and excellent reliability record. Between 2014 and 2021, the Mercury 115 Four Stroke became one of the most trusted mid-horsepower outboards on the market.
